My name is Jim Zacharias, and I am honored to have been chosen to lead the pack starting in February of 2021. I am very familiar with Pack 64 since my days as a den leader for my older son from 2010 to 2015. I am currently also the Scoutmaster for Troop 63, but will be leaving that position in July of 2021. In the 10 years I have been involved as a scouter, I have developed a deep passion for this program. My youngest son is now a Lion cub, and is very excited to start his journey through scouts. I have learned a lot over the years, and I intend to use those lessons to give the boys and girls in the pack the best scouting experience possible.
2020 was a very challenging year, to say the least, and unfortunately, the scouting program was heavily impacted by the pandemic. We have not been able to enjoy our usual indoor and outdoor program activities. However, there is now light at the end of the tunnel, and I am looking forward to getting back to some fun and excitement as we move through 2021. But I can’t do this alone. We have a great pack committee and great den leaders, most of whom I already know since they have older children in Troop 63. Adult involvement is key to providing a quality cub scout program. If you have any talents to offer, please speak to me, or the members of the committee as to how to get involved to help the pack. Any and all help is appreciated and your involvement will positively impact your child’s scouting experience.
I also want to acknowledge Adam Pehas and thank him for his service as Cubmaster over the past several years. He has done a wonderful job handing over the reins to me and making it a smooth transition.
