Welcome to the Pack 64 website!

Cub Scout Pack 64 is part of the Waapi Lenaswa District of Rainbow Council, and serves the communities of Lockport and Homer Glen in Illinois.  This website is the best place to find out more information about Cub Scout Pack 64 and all of our upcoming activities.

Pinewood Derby
The Pinewood Derby will be held Saturday, March 25th, at Cross of Glory Church, 14719 W 163rd Street, Homer Glen. More details to follow.

The derby will be open to any scout in the pack. We are asking that everyone please try to arrive promptly so that we can get all of the cars registered and begin the race. 

*Volunteers for this event are needed from Tiger Den 11, Wolf Dens 7 & 9, Bear Den 4, Web I Den 2. Please contract your den leader to volunteer. If you do not have your den leader information, please refer to the contact information on this website.


Pack 64 Annual Pancake Breakfast
Pack 64 Annual Pancake Breakfast is here!
Sunday, March 5 from 6:30 a.m.– 1:30 p.m.
Lockport VFW Post 5788 located at 1026 East 9th Street.
Many packs and troops have had great success with pancake breakfasts and spaghetti dinners as fundraising opportunities.  We have a great pack, and know we can make this a huge success if everyone pitches in! 

We will need as many hands as possible for the planning and executing of the breakfast!   We will need volunteers the day of the event to help the scouts run this event run smoothly:

  • Collecting tickets at the door
  • Cooking in the kitchen
  • Keeping the food trays full of food
  • Keeping beverages full
  • Keeping plates and utensils stocked
  • Clearing tables
  • Keeping new placemats on the tables
  • Clean-up afterward

Of course, our boys will be responsible for many of these tasks, and we want them to be! This is a great opportunity for our scouts to show off what wonderful young men they are! But, we’ll need parent volunteers to assist them as well!

In order for this event to be a success, we have a goal for each scouting family to sell 2-sheets of tickets. That is 12 tickets total. This includes any tickets you need for your own family. The costs are as follows:  Adults and seniors $7, Children under age 3 are free.

We are also going to be creating placemats with advertising on them for local businesses.  We will charge $25 per business to have their company’s business card advertised on the placemats.  We will be photocopying all the participating businesses’ business cards onto large paper to be used as placemats.  We are asking each scout to try and sell one business-card-sized spot for the placemats. We’re hoping to have enough ads to create two different placemats! 

Hiking Program
Our next hike will be in January, so check for an update.  

Every month we will be meeting at a different location and going for a hike, rain or shine or snow. During our hikes, we will be looking at nature, enjoying the outdoors, and working on other things based on the principles of Scouting. We will have a turnaround point at 1.5 miles for those who wish to hike for 3 miles, and then another at 2.5 miles for those who wish to hike the full 5 miles.

Each scout that participates will earn a fob that will be presented at the pack meeting. For every 5 miles accumulated, the scout will earn a bead to add to his fob. There are awards for 50 miles accumulated and 100 miles accumulated on the hikes.

About Pack 64
We are sponsored by Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Homer Glen, IL. We have an active program of age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities and meetings. We serve Cub Scout-age boys primarily from Butler Elementary School, but have several scouts that attend other elementary schools in our area. 
   The pack meets one Monday evening of each month (usually the last Monday of the month) at Schilling Elementary School. At each monthly meeting we recognize the work and achievement of our Cubs as they progress through the many achievement and elective requirements in the program. 
   Pack 64 is a family friendly cub pack. We encourage families to attend the pack meetings together and to participate in many of our activities as a family. Cub Scouting provides wonderful opportunities for cubs and their families to share experiences, work together, and have fun.
